Our Mission

To foster and promote community engagement on gender equity issues by, and between, members of the public, volunteer groups, community organisations, businesses and Council.

To develop a community of mutual support for people affected by gender inequity.

The Blue Mountains City Council supports Gender Equity Blue Mountains through coordination and promotion of local initiatives to achieve gender equity in our community.

Change starts with education.

Blue Mountains City Council Mayor, Mark Greenhill, with students from Katoomba and Winmalee High Schools, and members of the EViE activist group, at the Mayoral Breakfast to launch 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, 2023. Behind them is a display of flags made by community members as part of an initiative from DV West.
